Lima - Arequipa - Cusco - Lima
Day 01.- Lima in
Reception in the airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Lima.
Day 02.- Lima out – Arequipa in – City Tour
Monasterio de Santa CatalinaBreakfast. Transfer to the Airport to fly to Arequipa. In Arequipa reception start visiting the White city of Arequipa. We will visit the Main Square, which presents a beautiful bronze fountain of three plates crowned with the figure of a soldier of XVI century. Here we will be able to appreciate The Church of the Company of Jesus Christ. Next we will visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina who was a center of absolute retreat, which stayed closed to the public by centuries, today is harmoniously recovered and opened. It allows us to appreciate how the city of Arequipa was in the XVII century. We will see its streets, gardens, walls of sillar, etc. Immediately we will be transferred to the beautiful and green countryside of the Yanahuara Viewpoint, where we will have a privileged view of the city and Volcanoes like the Misti, Pichupichu and Chachani. Return to the Hotel. Overnight.
Day 03.- Arequipa – Chivay
Chivay ChurchBreakfast. Early in the morning we will start our trip to the Colca Valley located in the Province of Caylloma at 3 600masl. In our way we will pass by the district of Yura, Pampa Cañahua, where the vicunas can be appreciated. We will pass through the old crater of Chucure volcano. Later, we will arrive at Patapampa, the highest point pf the tour (4 800masl). From this point, the maximum number of volcanoes that exist together in the department of Arequipa can be appreciated. We will arrive at the town of Chivay and we will settle ourselves in the hotel. Soon we will have a time to have lunch. Also we will have the chance to visit the thermal baths of La Calera (optional). Overnight.
Day 04.- Chivay – Cross of the Condor - Arequipa
The Condor FlightBreakfast. This day we will visit the Cross of the Condor, a place that has an impressive View of the valley and from there we will be able to appreciate the flight of the condor and the depth of the canyon (3 400meters of depth). At Return, we will be able to visit the town of Pinchillo, the Hanging PRE-Inca tombs, Litomoquetas, the town of Maca, Achola, the town of Yanque and Chivay. Lunch in restaurant of Chivay (lunch on behalf of passenger). Return to the city of Arequipa. Overnight.
Day 05- Arequipa Out – Cusco in – City Tour
Breakfast. Early in the morning transfer to the Airport to fly to Cusco. Upon Cusco Main Squarearrival, reception, welcome and transfer to the chosen hotel. Rest in the morning to acclimatize to the high altitude. At 13:30 we will start the City Tour visiting the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun) and The Convent of Santo Domingo. We will continue with a visit to the museum of the Cathedral, where we will observe the colonial art of XVI and XVIII centuries, like paintings and marks. Later we will visit the archaeological sites bordering the city of Cusco: Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara and Tambomachay. Return to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 06.- Sacred Valley of the Incas
Breakfast. In the morning we will go to the town of Pisaq (located at 50 Chinchero - Cuscominutes from Cusco), where we will appreciate the archaeological complex (20 minutes from town). Also, we will have the chance to visit the Typical Artisan Market and the Main Square. We continue by one side of the Vilcanota river, until arriving to Urubamba, where we will have an exquisite lunch buffet. After that, we will discover Ollantaytambo, one of the last living Inca towns. This is so because their streets maintain the same outline to the one of the time of the Incas. We will visit the wonderful archaeological complex located there. In our way back to Cusco we will visit the town of Chinchero, a small colonial Inca town, where we will appreciate its main square and church. We will return back to Cusco. Overnight.
Day 07.- Machu Picchu – Cusco
Machu PicchuBreakfast. Very early in the morning (05: 30 hrs.) a car will pick us up from the chosen hotel and transfer us to the train station. The train leaves at 6am and arrives to the Machu Picchu town (Aguas Calientes) station at 10:00am. Immediately we will board the bus that will take us to Machu Picchu. We will continue with a guided visit in this magical place for about 2 hours, knowing the temple of the three windows, the solar clock, among others. At the end, we will have a free time until 12:00 hrs, where the bus will pick us up and take us to the town of Aguas Calientes. The train to return back to Cusco leaves at 4pm arriving to its destination at 8pm approximately. Overnight.
Day 08.- City Tour Colonial Lima – Lima out
Lima's CathedralBreakfast, Early in the morning transfer to the airport to fly to Lima. We will begin the tour visiting the Huaca Pucllana, (Panoramic View, we will not enter). Then, we walk around the Historic Center of Lima: the Main Square, The Government Palace, the Lima’s cathedral, The Archbishop Palace, The City Hall, the Museum of the Central Reserve Bank and Main streets and colonial houses with balconies in Mudejar style. After this, we will visit the Convent of San Francisco, the Catacombs (underground crypts of the colonial era). Continue in the new financial center of the city, El Olivar San Isidro, Central Miraflores Park, The Park of Love and Larco Mar. At an appropriate tour transfer to the airport to return to the origin city.

PAYMENT
When the Tour Package is confirmed, you will be requested to Pay the 50% of the total amount. This amount must be paid through our Online Payment Gateway where we accept Visa and Master Card (It does NOT include the 6% charge for Credit Card payment). Once the payment is approved SUMAQ PERU TRAVEL S.A.C. will proceed to block the spaces for you and in this way the Tour Package will be confirmed.
The payment instructions will be given by SUMAQ PERU TRAVEL S.A.C. to each client separately for security reasons.
After the payment is done, The Client will received an Invoice for the Tour Package.
The rest 50% must be paid after the arrival of the client.

The Peruvian Weather is dramatically defined by the Andean chain, the marine currents and its location on the globe, all of which makes the summer and winter seasons not so strong.

Time
The official time in Peru is located five hourse after the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) and it is similar to the EST (Eastern Standard Time) from the United States. Peru does not change the official time during the year, thus there is not summer or winter time, instead the time is maintain equal during all the year. Also it does not vary inside of the country.

Working Hours
The banks and stores attention is from 09:00am to 5:00 or 6:00pm during weekdays. And from 9:00am till midday on Saturdays.
Currency
The official currency of Peru is the Nuevo Sol (S/.) and each Sol is divided in 100 cents, it circulates in currencies of 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents, 1, 2 and 5 Nuevos Soles and in bills of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 Nuevos soles.
In relation to a foreign currency, the most accepted currency is the dollar, also in latest years the Euro can be easily exchange in the majority of exchange bureau. Another currency will be difficult to change outside Lima.
Credit cards
The accepted credit cards in Peru are Visa, Mastercard, Diner's Club and American Express. You can get the cash from Banks or from ATMS. The negative part to use a debit or credit card is that the establishments can load a 8% or a 10% to the final account.
Traveller's Checks
The traveler's checks are possible to be used in Peru but are difficult to change. The change of such can be made in Banks, when making this operation considers a loss from 2% to 5%. It is good taking them because of security reasons but always take cash.
The Water and Beverages
In the case of the Water in Peru it is necessary to have certain considerations, like not drinking water not boiled since many diseases can be transmitted through water specially the diarrhea. keep in mind to drink only mineral water which is easy to obtain at S/.1.00.
Food
In the case of the meals avoid eating on the street vendors. These Street Vendors are called "Ambulantes" and do not consume their products even if you are very hungry.
Peruvian Cuisine
The Peruvian cuisine has many varieties and diverse tastes which varies in the coast, mountain range and forest. The Ceviche is a highly recommended dish. In the case of drinks you should not forget to try our "Pisco Sour" elaborated with the ardent water of Peru "the Pisco", and also the drink of the Incas Chica of jora, chicha Morada, etc.
In Lima and the most important cities there are international food restaurants.
Vaccinations
To travel to Peru the vaccine against the Yellow Fever is obligatory if you are going to travel to the Forest area like Iquitos, Manu, Tambopata, etc.
Height
The altitude sickness is very common when you travel to very high zones in the mountain range of Peru like Cusco and Puno, and the symptoms are headache, vertigo, lethargy, loss of appetite, difficulty to sleep and it can get to be more severe. It is also called "Soroche". It is advisable to drink Mate de Coca.
Security
Nowadays the terrorism is considered a 90% solved problem and the counrty is living a time of peace and economical prosperity.

The Crime Rate in Peru is still a big issue, especially in central areas like Lima downtown or crowded places. In general terms Peru is a safe country, and like any other country in the world it is important to have some precautionary measures.
Language
In Peru the official language is the Spanish, but Quechua is the greater legacy of the Inca empire and is spoken in many regions of Peru with diverse dialects in each zone.

In general, the commercial stores, malls and artisan markets are open between 09:00 until 20:00 hrs. every day (even holidays)

National and international calls can be made from public telephones with coins or cards that are sold in many establishments and in kioscos.

In Peru the electrical energy is of 220 volts and The power plugs used are type A, B and C.
