Colonial and Modern City Tour Lima

We Hill begin the tour visiting the Huaca Pucllana, a ceremonial and administrative center of the Lima civilization (100 - 600 AD) which has a truncated pyramid built with handmade “adobitos” (small peaces of bricks made of mud) placed in the form of bookseller (Panoramic View, we will not enter). Then, we walk around the Historic Center of Lima, known since its foundation as the "City of the Kings," which was the capital of the Viceroyalty of Peru. We will appreciate: the Main Square, The Government Palace, the Lima’s cathedral, The Archbishop Palace, The City Hall, the Museum of the Central Reserve Bank and Main streets and colonial houses with balconies in Mudejar style.

After this, we will visit the Convent of San Francisco, a real jewel of colonial architecture dating from 1546; we will walk through its main cloister decorated with tiles from Sevilla of the seventeenth century, the Sacristy with paintings by Rivera and Zurbaran, the Catacombs (underground crypts of the colonial era). Continue in the new financial center of the city, El Olivar San Isidro with their olive trees dating from the late sixteenth century, brought from Spain, Central Miraflores Park, The Park of Love and Larco Mar, an example of modernity of the City and from which we will enjoy a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean.

Discover Pachacamac

Early in the morning we will start our visit to the sacred city of Pachacamac. Located at the 31 kilometer south of Lima in the Valley of Lurin. It is one of the most important ceremonial centers, considered together with Cuzco, the largest place of worship in Pre-hispanic America. Pilgrims arrived to this place from distant places to pay tribute to the god Pachacamac, his name means "the one who moves the world" known as the creator of the world and its creatures.
The archaeological site displays, carefully restored, palaces, squares and temples and has a site museum that houses an interesting collection of pieces found at the scene such as a wood carving of the god Pachacamac, considered the god of earthquakes. In the tour we will visit the Old Temple of Lima Civilization (where there was the oracle of Pachacamac), the Pyramids with ramps, the painted temple of Ichmay civilization, the Temple of the Sun and the Acllawasi or House of the chosen girls of the Inca Civilization. Return to the city of Lima.
